YOUR IPFS MEMBERSHIP
✅ Your membership payment can go through on either the 1st or the 15th of the month. We will prorate the first month depending on when you start.
✅ We prefer payments set up with auto pay using direct bank account transfer. This avoids any credit card fees.
✅ You can also pay with credit card (will charge credit card fees, about 4%), cash (leave in cashbox by door), or venmo @coachjustinz
✅ Please pay your membership on time! If you cannot for some reason, please let us know as soon as possible.
✅ If you can, please continue to pay through December and through the summer months. Having a bunch of people skip their membership payment seasonally puts us in a tight spot as a business. We do keep our prices as low as possible, and offer a discounted 6 month membership option.
✅ If you really want to keep training but have hit a tight spot financially, please talk to us before dropping out of training. We want to make things work for you!

CARE AND KEEPING OF YOUR GEAR
CARE AND KEEPING OF YOUR GEAR
✅ Don’t forget to take your sweatshirts, socks, etc home with you, and check the lost & found periodically for your stuff.
✅ You can store your gloves and shin guards in the changing room, please try to keep it tidy.
✅ Make sure to dry your gloves/shin guards thoroughly after each training session. It is a good idea to spray the insides down with stay-fresh spray or disinfectant right after heavy use.
✅ Get a boot dryer for your home – it is an easy tool to quickly dry your wet gloves and will extend the life of your boxing gloves 3-5x.
✅ Keep your rashguards/spats/shorts clean, here is a soap that we recommend that gets rid of the stink well – Atsko Sport-Wash

ROLLING & SPARRING
ROLLING & SPARRING
‼️Find safe ways to push your limits. DO NOT push the limits of safety‼️
WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU START ROLLING
✅ There is a higher injury risk for beginners. It is best to get a minimum of 6 weeks of fundamentals completed before jumping in to rolling.
✅ We do our best to coach people to have safe rolls and training, but it does come down to you. Try to maintain a calm demeanor while rolling. Spazzing or trying to use all your strength is likely to get you or your training partner hurt.
✅ In practice, we win by getting practice and learning. Not necessarily by defeating our training partners. In fact, training with people who can defeat you is often a quicker way to get better.
✅ You’re among friends, people care about you and want you to succeed. You have nothing to prove, this isn’t happening with a public audience. All you’re trying to do is give yourself an opportunity to learn and get a crazy-good workout without getting injured or injuring your training partner. If you can do that, you’ve gone from someone without real live roll experience to someone who is actively rolling at training. Therefore you’ve moved up in the grappling world and accomplished something very real.
✅ No sparring before Coach approval – read our sparring policy here: https://www.thefightsystem.com/about-us/ipfs-sparring-policy/
✅ Competition Eligibility – you will need Coach Justin’s approval to compete. He will want to make sure you are certified to the necessary technical level first.
ROLLING ETIQUITTE
✅ Thank your training partner when they beat you in a roll. Why? 1st, for making you better and helping you gain experience, 2nd, for preventing injuries on your body when they respect the tap and let go, and 3rd by demonstrating a genuine technique in action on you effectively, and you got to feel it from the receiving end.
✅ Don’t make excuses about why they tapped you or try to delegitimize their victory by saying you tapped early and you might have escaped if they tried to hold out longer.
✅ Respect more experienced team, they are there to help you grow and learn. We prioritize mentorship on our team.
YOUTH CLASS RULES & ETIQUETTE
Please go over these rules with your child:
✅Rule #1: No screaming in the dojo
✅Have a Good Attitude (“I CAN”)
✅Stay Focused and Participate
✅Respect Everyone
✅ Everyone trains together
Info For Parents:
✅ Please let us know if your child won’t be able to make it to class!
✅ If your child is sick or has a rash or skin infection, keep them out of class until they are entirely better.
✅ Have your child bring a water bottle
✅ Your child will need to bring a water bottle mouthguard to every class or keep it at the gym (label with their name). We have mouthguards for $4 at the gym.
✅ Your child should have hair tied back, no jewelry, and clean feet and trimmed finger and toenails.
Attire & Gear:
Jiu Jitsu: Avoid clothes that are overly loose, sparkly, or have zippers/buttons/pockets. They should have their shoulders covered, and wear shorts or leggings that provide full coverage.
Boxing & Kickboxing: Shorts and a tshirt or tank, no sparkles. Boxing Gloves, Handwraps, and for Kickboxing only – Shinguards.
